Quick Tip & Ideas

PAGE LAYOUT - TRIMMING

Submitted by Charlene S.

If you trim your pages just 1/8" before inserting into the sleeve, you page will not "buckle" as some do when you have embellishments on your page.

PAGE LAYOUT - INTERACTIVE PAGES

Submitted by Charlene S.

When you have interactive pages and you cut your sleeves to accommodate those items, use your hole punch to make a small circle on the end of each slit.  This will stop the slit from tearing any further.

TOOLS - PAPER PUNCHES

Submitted by Charlene S.

When your paper punches start to stick, punch into wax paper several times to relubricate them.  When your paper punches start to dull, punch into aluminum foil several times to resharpen them.

 STAMPING - STORING INKPADS

Submitted by Charlene S.

If you store your ink pads upside down they will stay nice and 'juicy' when you are ready to use.

EMBELLISHMENTS - DEALING WITH STATIC

Submitted by Charlene S.

If you rub your hands with a dryer sheet before working with glitter, it will not stick to them as much.

FINISHING TOUCH

When I crop a photo, I get white edges that are noticeable especially when I mat the photo on a dark solid color paper.  I use a black brush pen to color the edges and let them dry fully before matting the photo.  White edges are gone!

PHOTO INDEX SHEETS

I used to throw away the photo index that comes with my photos after developing.  Now, I use them to make borders or fill die cut shapes as a re-cap.  (These are also the perfect size for many lockets.)

EMBELLISHMENTS - AFFIXING RIBBON

Sometimes I just want a strip of ribbon to be completely flat along a border, so it almost looks like a stripe.  This can be achieved by running the strip of ribbon through a Xyron!  No more gaping ribbons!

TOOLS - FOR ALL THOSE CRICUT USERS

Submitted by Barb from Holsopple

I get frustrated at times with my mat when it gets paper 'fuzz', etc stuck to it.  Just take a lint roller and run it over the mat and it comes right off!  Also, if your mat is no longer sticky, just spray it with a thin layer of Elmer's Spray Adhesive and you're good to go - and you don't have to buy a new mat!
