GIVE YOUR SCRAPBOOK PAGES OR CARDS A DIMENSIONAL LOOKCLICK SMALLER IMAGES TO SEE FULL PAGE SAMPLES There are some easy tricks to add dimension to your page. Paper layering is the easiest one. First get the basic parts of your page design down. Choose one or two photos within your page that you would like to stand out. Add a layer of coordinating paper under the picture to create the dimension. Now enhance the picture even more by layering on the photo itself. For example, if the photo is of a flower, place a button on the center of the flower; if the photo includes balloons, cut around most of the balloon and place a pop dot under the balloon to make it pop off the page. You can add curled wire to your page to add ‘party fun’ or make the wire the string of that balloon we just popped out. Chipboard and foam letters are also great additions to add dimension. For those of you who are already bored with the above techniques and are ready to step up to the next level (and add even more time to your page), try paper quilling. Paper quilling is the art of curling strips of paper and assembling them into designs like the shapes of flowers, for example. You want to use paper strips that are about ½” wide. Roll tightly (you can buy these already rolled for you), letting the spiral roll go so there’s little space between the roll, and secure with glue. You can use a tool called a slotted quilling tool if your prefer. Use these rolls to create your designs, which can then be placed on your scrapbook page to add a decorative accent. Using photo corners to add dimension – okay, this one is too easy. Once you have matted your photo with a coordinating cardstock, cut out small photo corners (the sizzix photo corner die works best for me). Place the photo corner exactly matching to the outer edge of the mat. This make the photo look like it is embedded in the cardstock, adding dimension.
