Scrapbooking and Card Making Class Descriptions

Classes are offered for ALL levels of scrappers and card makers!  Click on the calendar to find the dates of your favorite class!  See photos of some of the classes/crops in our website Gallery.  Some classes are offered by request - if you have a group of 2 or more - we will schedule a class based on your schedule!   

 Beginner Classes

First Page (Wed., Feb 15th. 10:30am - 11:30am;  Thurs., Feb 16th. 6pm - 7pm ) Don’t be overwhelmed with the idea of starting a scrapbook.  Join in on this class and learn about tools, how to choose your photos, crop and mat your photos, layout designs, working with colors, journaling, and titles.  These are the basic steps for every page and once you feel comfortable with these, you are well on your way! 

Bring:   4-6 photos of related theme and beginner’s tools to this class.   $10 per person.  Reservation/Prepayment Required.

 

 

Techniques Classes

 

NEW!!!   Sketches Classes! (check the calendar or see the list of dates below).  Simple Sketches - Portrait Sketches - Sketch Marathons!  Imagine never having to come up with your own layout designs again!   In these classes, you will get some sketches (layout design diagram) and create pages much like the sketch (this shows you how easy it is to follow a sketch) - then see alternate ways to make pages using the same layout sketch.  Each month the sketches will be different.  Some Sketches Classes can be repeated as requested.   

 

Simple Sketches - #, ()

These will be the easiest pages you will ever create!   We have the idea, you just follow instructions and put it together!   You will complete 2 double page layouts in this class!  (photos are optional)   Each month features NEW ideas and layouts!  $10 per person.

 

 

Portrait Sketches - Get those fabulous 8x10 or 5x7 photos onto some of your best pages!  We have the ideas - all you have to do is follow directions and put it all together!  Each month features NEW ideas and layouts!  You will complete 2-3 portrait pages.  $10.00 per person.

 

 

Sketches Marathon - #2.1.12 Sat., Feb 18th from 10am - 4pm.  Just like a monthly Sketches Class - but soooo much more -  you will complete 10 pages in 6 hours!   We will be following a sketch for 4 single-page layouts AND 3 double-page layouts.  The sketches used are different from the regular Sketches classes, so no repeats!   $30 fee includes a pizza break!   limited seating.

 

 

Sketches Triathlon - #1.1.12 Saturday, January 28th from 10am - 5pm.

Let's Celebrate our favorite thing to do!   SCRAPBOOK!!!   This Sketches Class includes three events - just like a Triathlon -  You will complete a Sketches Marathon, a Portrait Sketches AND a Simple Sketches Class - all in one!   At least 14 pages will be completed!!!   $40 (includes a pizza break, beverages and some snacks)  ***The Sketches down in this class are not repeats!  They are all new sketches.

 

                         

  

All In One Scrapbooking Basics ()   So much to learn!  This class will show you the possibilities with paper (embossing, inking, tearing, sanding, punching and more!), AND the many dimensional items you can use to jazz up your pages or cards brads, eyelets, buttons, ribbons, flowers and more!). If that is not enough, you will also learn lots of journaling tricks! this is all you need in one class to jump to the next level of scrapbooking.     $20 per person                         

 

                                                  

Equipment Classes

 

Design Studio & Cricut Craft Room Basics (Wed., Feb 22nd from 6pm - 7:30pm;  Sat., March 3rd from 2pm - 3:30pm) If you own the software for the Cricut, we can show you how to use it.  Of course, you could figure it all out on your own, by why would you want to?   You will need to bring your laptop with DS fully installed, your Cricut or Expressions machine, and font cartridge and mat.  (If your DS is on your desktop, let us know, we can let you use ours).   We will also be going over the basics of the Cricut Craft Room too.   $25 per person.  

 

Cricut/Expressions for Beginners  ( Sat., March 3rd from 10am to 11:30am) If you own a Cricut or Expressions machine,  want to buy one, or want to get the most out of using OUR Cricut while at a CROP, this class is for you.   Learn to use all the basic features and settings that are the same with both machines. Bring your Cricut machine, George or Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, and mat.  $15 per person.       

 

Advanced Expressions () Congrats on getting your new Expressions!!  Now get the most out of it by learning how to use all of the NEW features. (You should already know all the basic features, including Real Dial Size, Reset, Load Last, Cartridge feature keys like Shadow, etc)   Bring your machine, mat and Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.  $15 per person.   

                                            

 

Project Classes

 

 

 

 

Word Book Class  (Sat., March 3rd from 11:30pm to 1:30pm)  (you choose the word of your book).  You will learn how to cover the pages and treat the edges of each page in this class.   It will be ready for photos and decorations.  $20 per person (includes your book).  Reservations MUST be made 5 days in advance for this class.  

  

 

Jazzed Up Scrapbook Pages with Cindy #1.12 - Jan Class (Saturday, Jan 28th from 10:30am - 5pm);   #2.12 - Feb Class (Saturday, Feb 18th from 10:30am - 5pm)

In this class we will be making a two page themed layout all jazzed up "Cindy" style!  If you have seen some of her work in the store you know what we mean!  You will complete a 2 page Valentine layout.  The cost of the class is $20pp.  You will be working with different techinques such as paper piecing, inking, glitter, stickles and more.  Reservations must be made 3 days in advance for this class.

 

 Card Class with Greg Timko (  ) 

Card Class with Lorrie Gretz (Thurs., Jan 26th from 6pm to 8pm)   In this class you will be making One Valentine Cards, a Hot Chocolate Card Holder and a Lip Balm Holder.  The cost of the class is $15pp.  Students are required to bring their own scissors/cutters, scorer/boner, adhesive, foam pop up squares, ruler and pencil.  Seating is limited to 10 per class.  Reservations are required.  

 

If the date and time for the class you want is not good for you, we will provide a PRIVATE CLASS if you have a group of three or more - just call to arrange.

 

 CROPS    You Don't have to be a Crop Club Member to Crop at the Crop Shop.   Everyone is Welcome!!

 All Crops include your table space, use of all Crop Stop equipment and access to the whole store of supplies if you need to shop for anything to complete your pages, we will run a tab for you.

 

Friday Night Crops  Every Friday Night   6 hours of cropping with friends, snacks/beverages (healthy and fun options), give-aways, use of Crop Stop equipment including featured Cricut Cartridges, and a make-n-take.  All of this in a clean and friendly environment - The Best Friday Crops in Town!  Fee:   $10 per person for 1/2 Table or $15 per person for whole table space.  Reservation/Prepayment REQUIRED.

 

Friday Early Birds Cropping   Get a jump start on the night, come in any time between 2:00pm and 5:30pm for only $2 more!  (Normal Crop room rate is $2 per hour)

   

             

 Snowflake Weekend Crop (Friday, Jan 20th through Sunday Jan 22nd)  Separate day rates available!

It is really just too cold outside to do anything but stay inside and scrapbook - and we have the place to do it!   50 Hours of cropping includes your table space, use of Crop Stop Equipment including Cricut Font Cartridges, snacks/beverages (healthy ones too!) give-a-ways, delicious meals (Friday dinner, Saturday Light Lunch and Homemade Dinner,  & Light Lunch). 

The cost is as follows: 

             Entire Weekend (50 Hours) ~ 1/2 Table $75 per person or Whole Table $90 per person.

              Friday Only (18 Hours) ~ Noon till 6am Sat - 1/2 Table $30 per person or Whole Table $35 per person

              Saturday Only (24 Hours) ~ 6am Sat till 6 am Sun - 1/2 Table $45 per person or Whole Table $50 per person

              Sunday Only (8 Hours) ~ 6 am Sun till 2 pm Sun ~ 1/2 Table $10 per person or Whole Table $15 per person

Crop Shop Birthday Crop - Saturday Feb 11th  from 10am - 10pm

There is no better way to Celebrate the Crop Shop's 5th Birthday than at a Crop Shop Crop!  This will also be our first Crop at our New Location (Big Lot's Plaza, Greensburg).  The cost is $20 per person for 1/2 Table or $25 per person for whole table.  Price includes your table space, use of Crop Stop Equipment including Cricut Font Cartridges, snacks/beverages (healthy ones too!), light lunch, a delicious dinner and Birthday give-a-ways.

 

Mom & Me Crop ~ Sunday, Feb 16th from Noon to 4pm;  Sunday, March 11th from Noon to 4pm

Bond and Crop with your child - Young or Old!  This crop is 4 hours long and recommended for children 7 and older -  must be accompanied by an adult.  You can work together on a project, or each work on your own.  Fee includes table space, use of equipment (children must be supervised using equipment), snacks and drinks.  $10 per Adult. Limit of 2 Children per each adult.  Each additional child (after 2 ) will be charged $5.00 per child.

 

Winter Blues Crop (Friday, Feb 24th through Sunday Feb 26th)  Separate day rates available!

Cropping in the Crop Shop!  You Don't Have to be a member to Crop at the Crop Shop!!   If you cannot make it to a Friday Night - how about cropping throughout the day!  During regular store hours, so long as no crop event is scheduled, you can use the cropping room!  Join us for a few hours or all day to get caught up on your projects!   $2/hour (Crop Club members are free all the time),  or on Thursdays, crop for $1/hour for the first three hours, then for free!

 The Crop Shop will follow the Hempfield Area School District schedule.   IF there is a school delay, there MAY be a delay opening the store.  IF there is a school closing, there MAY be a store closing.  (we have kids in the school district).   It is best to call the store first to check for phone updates.

  

 

 

 

Vellum Mysteries.  (By request) Vellum has so many uses but if you have not tried it out, don’t wait any longer.  Learn what to do with all that vellum you have been gathering over the years.   $10 per person.
